Synopsis

Some universal truths refuse to be ignored.

Peanut butter and jelly are a match made in heaven. Spaghetti and meatballs are best friends forever. And guys like Tyler Knight don’t go for girls like Cam Emerson.

She knew from the second she met him that he didn’t belong on her bookshelf, the six-foot-six ex-tight end with a face so all-American, it could have sold apple pie. So she shelved him next to the supermodels and rock stars and took her place on her own shelf — the one with the flannel-clad, pasty-faced comic book nerds. Most of her boyfriends have existed between the pages of books, but rather than worrying over her own lacking love life, she puts all her energy into playing Cupid, using her job at the book bar, Wasted Words, as her stomping ground.

Tyler Knight always looks on the bright side. His career-ending injury turned into a job as a sports agent. A horrible breakup led him to Cam, his quirky, smart roommate who is far more beautiful than she realizes. She’s made it perfectly clear she’s not interested in him — not like that at least — but if she ever changes her mind, he won’t hesitate. Because he doesn’t see the lines she’s drawn between them, as much as she insists that they’re there. Deep down he knows that despite their differences, they’re a match well made.

*A romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma*

Review

“No, friendzoned by a guy means that you just end up a fuck buddy.” I chuckled. “I guess I’m just one of the lucky ones. It’s unfathomable to me that the two of us could ever be together. even in that daydreamy, pretend sort of way. We’re too different, even down to our height. He’s six-foot-six, which makes him sixteen inches taller than me. That’s almost a foot-and-a-half. Can you imagine having sex with him?”

Bayleigh wet her lips. “Yeah, I could.”

I adore Staci Hart books and devour them like no other. She brings you characters you not only can relate to, with real issues, she makes you fall completely in love with them. After I read Chaser by her I was confident that no man could ever steal my heart the way Cooper did, well let me tell you Tyler is right up there. He is perfection and I was entranced from the moment I met him.

‘I wanted it to be a disaster so he’d come home and see me. I mean, really see me. See me as more than just good ol’ Cam, and when he was completely sober.’

Now it is easy for me to love a good book boyfriend but falling in love with  a female heroine is hard, We criticize and judge them much the same way we do females in real life. It’s not right that we are harder on them but it is truth. So when I tell you that I LOVE Cam know that is where it is coming from. She is quirky and fun more than that she is real. Plagued with doubts and insecurities that over whelm her she could have easily been a character that irked me. But Staci mixed that beautifully with an incredibly fun personality and the ability to light up the room. She is all of us and for that I loved her completely.

“I doesn’t make any sense that you’d want me.”

He stroked my cheek, his dark eyes soft. “Maybe not in your universe, but it makes perfect sense in mine.”

OMG GAH TYLER. He is just everything and he is mine. I have claimed him with no intention of sharing.

Sweet, humorous, intelligent and sexy this book has it all. Beautifully written with a brilliant friends to lovers plot this is one not to miss.
